1.Whitechapel Mayn Vaytshepl by British group Klezmer Klub

Released end 2009, Whitechapel mayn Vaytshepl is a new CD of Yiddish songs of London, researched and arranged by the longstanding band, Klezmer Klub. The songs, written between 1900 and 1940 describe the old Jewish East End, and tell of places and people, the bagel seller, the old fiddler, Solomon Levy the Pavillion theatre. It tells stories of immigration, of poverty, but also stories of the streets, containing humour and lots of politics. The CD also has Klezmer dance tunes, some newly composed specifically written for London. The the accompanying booklet contains all the lyrics and translations and a historical context. It brings the old Jewish London to life and has been performed to very enthusiastic audiences in London and beyond. CD Price £14.99  

2.New recordings of two megillot, Book of Ruth and Song of Songs

The Book of Ruth and Song of Songs, sung unaccompanied in Hebrew by Dena Bain Taylor – a professionally trained singer with 25 years of experience singing in synagogues in Toronto, Canada. Shir HaShirim at Pesach and Megillat Ruth at Shavuot, Professional recording and production with artwork by Israeli artists Sharon Binder and Maly Gat. Each CD £14.50 

3.Mike Gerber's Jazz Jews Five Leaves Publications

Mike Gerber and Five Leaves Publications - Jazz Jews, which has been ten years in the making and includes 7,000 names in the index alone. The book covers Jews in jazz from the Jazz Age to the avant garde, from performers to record label owners. The book is international in scope, covering the role of Jews in breaking the colour bar in American jazz, in using jazz as an instrument against apartheid and Soviet oppression. Mike Gerber interviewed everyone from Artie Shaw (possibly his last interview) to Frank London of the Klezmatics. Book, 656 pages, £24.99 hardback
