Nialler9 checked out the band during their PASTE Magazine showcase at The Galaxy Room and shot two videos of the band.

"Sometimes….very rarely.. but sometimes, a band surpasses your already high expectations. The Middle East gave me shivers and left me teary eyed just watching them at the Paste Magazine party on Thursday."
-Nialler9

"I quickly split after her set to catch the tail end of The Middle East, where they managed to pulverize their final song ("Blood") in an epic Arcade Fire-style."
-Fudge.org

"The Darkest Side' is a lilting lullaby from many-membered aussies @TheMiddleEast, who are not easy to google."
-Esquire Twitter

A MASSIVELY WARM "thank you" to everyone who came to check out the band. Your support did not go unnoticed!

May 30 Fort Lauderdale, Florida 14th ANNUAL ISRAELI DANCE FESTIVAL YACHAD

www.JewishNetwork.com

From: COPAVISION

SUBJECT:  14th ANNUAL ISRAELI DANCE FESTIVAL "YACHAD"  (Fort Lauderdale, Florida)
FROM:      Roger Weiger, Festival Director

Following last year's success, Festival Yachad will feature more than 500 dancers on stage from our own community and invited groups from Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Panama and Israel performing to Israeli folkdance music, with colorful costumes, amazing scenery and special lighting effects.

"This year our Festival Yachad reaches 14 years and we will be celebrating Jewish Women, therefore the gala's theme is "Nashim", which in Hebrew means "Women". Each choreography will portray a Jewish tradition that women do, like the Mikveh, Chalah making, Henna, etc. Biblical Women such as Miriam, Rachel, Dvorah and Esther will also be portrayed as well as modern women such as Chana Szenes, Ofra Haza, Naomi Shemer and Sarit Haddad will be honored. "It is a wonderful way to educate our children about their Heritage, while they perform our Jewish Traditions", explains, Nicole Papu, Festival Yachad Co-Chair.

"Festival Yachad"  is sponsored by Safra National Bank of New York and it is a pleasure for us to be associated with such a strong financial institution, who provides us with the support we need to bring this event to audiences in both Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County says Esther Fuhrman, Festival Yachad Co-Chair.

Festival Yachad's Gala Performance will take place on Sunday, May 30th 2010, at 7pm at the world renowned Au-Rene Theatre at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are priced at $20 and $25 and are available for purchase through COPAVision Entertainment.  Contact Ira Weisburd at copavision@comcast.net or by calling: (561) 901-1200. See our Flyer above. March Jewish Museum in Prague

The Jewish Museum in Prague is pleased to remind you of a Wednesday's press conference for the opening of a new exhibition

And you shall tell your son…”
Haggadot in the collections of the Jewish Museum in Prague

The holiday of Pesah begins on 30 March this year on the Jewish calendar. To mark this occasion, the Jewish Museum in Prague has prepared an exhibition that features a selection of the oldest and most interesting Haggadot (the plural of Haggadah) – liturgical texts used during the Seder celebration of the Jewish holiday of Pesach (Passover). As part of the Pesach festivities at home, the biblical story of the Exodus of the Jews from Egyptian slavery, which is related in the Haggadah, is commemorated along with other stories relating to the celebrations. This exhibition will show how the Haggadah has changed visually from the earliest printed copies to present-day editions from the Czech Republic, Israel and other regions of the world, which are represented in the collections of the Jewish Museum in Prague. The show is unique not only because it focuses on a single genre of religious literature but also because it is the first of its kind to familiarize viewers in the Czech Republic with Pesach Haggadot as they have been produced through the centuries.

The exhibition is curated by Michal Bušek and Ondřej Čihák.

The press conference with the tour of the exhibition will take place on Wednesday, 24 March 2010 at  11 a. m. at the Robert Guttmann Gallery (U Staré školy 3, Prague 1 /rear wing of the Spanish Synagogue/)

From 25 March until 27 June 2010
The exhibition is open every day except for Saturdays aand Jewish holidays
from
25 until 26 March 9 a.m. 4.30 p.m., from 28 March until 27 June 9 a.m.6 p.m.

We look forward to your coming.

Israel Magen David Adom Group Visits

Are you looking for something new and meaningful to do in Israel with your family this Passover? this summer? in general?

The American Friends of Magen David Adom is making appointments for group visits to the Magen David Adom EMS Station and dispatch center in Jerusalem during your Pesach holiday in Israel. These visits are suitable for families with children in first grade and up.

Visitors will see MDA's unique, state of the art dispatch center and technology that navigates the ambulances in the event of an emergency, the Jerusalem branch of the MDA National Blood Services Center, explore the fleet of MDA ambulances, many donated by people and organizations in your own community, and meet and interact with MDA's staff and volunteers for a first hand perspective on the challenges of saving lives in Israel. Presently undergoing major renovation and construction, visiting the Bloomberg MDA Jerusalem station will be especially meaningful for New Yorkers as the lead gift in this construction project was made by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in memory of his father.

Participation is by advance reservation only, on a first come, first served basis. Tours are being scheduled for Wednesday, March 31 and Friday April 2 (in the morning).  Please feel free to pass this along to those who will be in Israel and possibly find this of interest.

Please e-mail  IsraelOffice@afmda.org for further details.

Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad Rocky Tour Rundown and Upcoming Dates

Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad tour

1. Rocky Tour
2. Upcoming dates
3. Win a free ski trip with NJGGB

The tour drama started before the tour ever began, a colossal snowstorm in NYC that threaten our flights, a dancer with a bum leg and a guitar player who left his guitar at the airport. For the 2nd time in a row, the Denver audiences made us forget our troubles. What followed I can only describe as the most fun, adventurous (intentionally adventurous), inebriated, cushiest and scandalous tour to date. It was like a Teen Tour meets Mamas & the Papas with a lot of splashes of Jim Beam. We teamed up with the fellas of Good For the Jews (Rob Tannenbaum & David Fagin), or rather lured them with promises of Medical Marijuana and roamed the Rocky Mountains like the gyspies, tramps and Jews that we are.

In Denver Colorado I rented a Chevy Blazer from Rent-A-Lemon. My ride definitely lived up to its name and I felt very Colorado in it. We sold out two shows at Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret because Denver rocks. We stayed at the delightful abode of one Jefferson Arca (AKA Pierre St. Pierre) and if he isn't too careful I might be moving in :) If you find yourself in Denver on a Thursday or Saturday night, check out Pierre's Show, it is the most fun I've had in a while. Denver is truly lucky to have this gem. I want to thank Bill Husted of the Denver Post, Susan Froyd of The Westword and Larry Hankin of Intermoutain Jewish News for the love. I also want to give a special thanks for the free acupunture - acute back pain went away.

Next up Breckenridge, we stayed at the sexy Great Divide and graced the stage of Three 20 South. Lauren Lewsadder of the Chamber of Commerce hooked us up with gear thru Ski Butlers. If there were ever saints, it was the guys of Ski Butlers. They came to our hotel rooms, outfitted us in our gear, boards and skis and were pretty adorable. COUGAR ALERT! If you ever find yourself in Breck - Eat @ Lucha. Many thanks to Leah Arnold for the lift tix discount.

We then schlepped up to Steamboat Springs which should have the tag line: Steamboat Springs, next to nothing. the venue, Ghost Ranch Saloon was pretty adorable, the audience was fab and the staff was great until it came time to pay us and they decide it was perfectly ok to cheat us out of our hard earned dough. My own personal tag line is now: Steamboat Springs: Not worth the schlep. Steamboat Springs: Breckenridge is closer. Thank you Paula Salky for spreading the word.

Around that time the key was stuck in the ignition of my Rent A Lemon special. We hit Boulder and played on what I can only describe as a small football field and spent 90 minutes offending the audience. I guess Mork was the extent of their sense of humor. Thank you Dave Burdick, Boulder Jewish News and Roberta Levin for helping us fill the house. We got a very long winded letter afterwards from an offended audience member. The girlfight at the beginning of the show yanked her chain so there was not going to be any love there. Got to love those moments.

We went back up to the mountains, skied Breckenridge and Keystone then went to Aspen. It was in Aspen I realized that a 1998 Chevy Blazer with the key stuck in the ignition will not get stolen if parked next to a Bentley. We skied Aspen or rather we tried to get down the hill intact. Lots of Botox waiting for us at the bottom. We then packed the really beautiful Wheeler Opera House and I felt like Jenny Lind gracing the stage, if Jenny Lind sang about her Vi-jew-jew. Many thanks to Gram Slayton, Brad Manosevitz, Andrew Kole, Christopher Laursen and Michael Sailor for making Aspen truly special for us. I didn't feel nearly as impoverished.

Moab welcomed us with open arms at the now World's Famous Frankie D's. As I came around the bend and saw the iconic orange rock against the blue sky, I was instantly happy. Last year, I made the observation that the person with the most crap in their front yard won. This idea definitely made it around town over the past year as the crowd cheered the bit on. Frankie D was the same wonderful spirit, he always is. I even wore his photo onstage - "Day Destroys The Night". The townsfolk packed the place and made the show very fun and interactive. Many thanks to Sallie Hodges, Helena, Teri Ann Tibbetts, Christy Williams Dunton, KZMU Crew and of course Frankie D for making Moab a truly wonderful place in our hearts.

www.Albuquerque.gs

Albuquerque JCC was next up, raising a little dough for the NMU Hillel. One of the lovelier spot in town. Many thanks to Betty Harvie and Jackie Shane for putting the evening together, it was a big success and hopefully there were more smiles than angry letters. I do miss the tranny hookers btwn the stage and the dressing room, I am talking to you Filling Station. Thank you David Steinberg and The Alibi for the ink :)

We were worried about the Taos New Mexico gig as it was the same night as the Oscars and I have priorities. Luckily that didn't stop our fans from coming on down. Our favorite gay native American, Chief Suck-The-Cock represented as well as Phyllis in her NJGGB tee who told me I was funnier and thinner than last time. I guess that's a compliment. l also want to thank Blackie McGoldstein for making it down and lighting up the night. Thank you Buzz and Ruth, we love you! We made it out to the Earth Ships, houses made out of recycled materials and now I want one. Come on fans, hook me up. Mucho Gracias to Rick Romancito.

Santa Fe rocked as usual. Since our last trip, the venue, Backroad Pizza, had been featured on Drive-ins, Diners and Dives on the Food Network. The smallest stage of our trip was the most famous. Thank you Piper for the love and the pie. Wish we could have stayed longer but we needed to rush off to Vail afterwards so I could get pulled over for a sobriety test. Note to self: A New Mexican Sobriety Test is very similar to a basic Vinyasa Yoga class. Toda Raba SF New Mexican and Reporter :)

Our last night in Vail was bittersweet as our tour was coming to an end. The crowd kept on sending up gag nasty shots to David and later they joined us on stage. Thank you Sandbar crew for everything. That morning I woke up in a mountain side mansion compliments of Jen Alpert (shh-don't tell her Dad). Instead of hitting the slopes I wanted to bask in the moment before returning to my NYC treehouse. We went back to Denver in a snowstorm but this time the Rent-A-Lemon prevailed. Jefferson Arca rocked our world once more with sushi, booze and a magic show. I have been sleeping ever since I have been back.

Check out our upcoming shows:

April-May New York Jewish Blood of Space by David Chaim

I am pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition of "Blood of Space" by David Chaim Smith from April 1 - May 15 at the Cavin-Morris Gallery in New York. The opening is from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm on April 1st. John Zorn and some other musicians will be performing at 6pm. It should be a lot of fun! Dave has been creating contemplative mystical images and teaching a radical form of Jewish mysticism for over 25 years. These images are not illustrations of any finite dogma or ideology. They are open investigations that guide the contemplation of the infinite nature of the creative process. They are intensely personal adaptations of the most profound mystical axioms, imbued with the deepest poetry and reverence for aesthetic wonder. For a sneak preview of Dave's work go to davidchaimsmith.com or cavinmorris.com.

March Shira Kline Spring with ShirLaLa Jewish Music Travel Families Kids

Hello everyone,
I hope you had a fabulous Purim, I sure did! March is packed full of ShirLaLa concerts and events. Check out the links below, hope
to see you there!

Believe it or not, Pesach is around the corner so visit Blog Sameach for family activites, the BEST Pesach recipes and more.

Whether it's your custom to clean out every speck of dust or to change out your wardrobe, be sure to celebrate some measure of the
transformation from the cold winter to warm sunny spring. This is a great time to not only clear out our homes from the chametz,
the foods we don't consume during Pesach, but also to de-clutter our lives and make space for the new. Take a moment to consider.
What is the chametz, the "puffed up" non-essential elements in your life?

Pssst!

First of all

What is staring us all in the face is a lack of special offers (bar the odd few for Passover). This in itself speaks volumes -
Israel is enjoying a huge upsurge in its tourism fortunes. It does not take a genius to work it out. The last major down turn
started in September 2000 and really continued for one reason or another till May 2005. During that period Israel's Ministry of
Tourism did great work by opening up new sources of business - mainly in the Christian pilgrimage market.

Now 5 years on - the investments made into these new markets have paid off - but at some cost to the consumers.

New flights are also in the pipeline - from Munich, Stockholm and Lisbon - which will not only offer a service to the Israeli market
outbound but will also bring in incoming visitors as well.

The hotel infrastructure is now at creaking point and many hotels need refurbishment - but they are loathe to close off rooms or
floors because they are in heavy demand. The traditional off - season has disappeared and the opening up of Africa, Asia and Latin
America as a huge source of business is going to change Israel forever.

All this has an impact on hotel rates - which have slowly crept upwards. Before you condemn the hoteliers - consider the period of
tourism drought between September 2000 and May 2005.

Where does all this leave you - the individual tourist wanting to go to Israel?

Some of you may return to the telephone and actually speak to a travel agent to let them do the shopping for the best deal for you -
because now there is no guarantee that you will be able to source that by yourself on the net.

The key factor is really the worth of our pound versus the US dollar - and as I type this now - the rate of exchange is going the
wrong way for us and we may have to wait for the general election to see what will happen with the value of our pound long term.

MOBILE TELEPHONE CALLS IN ISRAEL - UK TO ISRAEL - FROM ISRAEL TO UK
Talk'n'Save, the leading provider of mobile phone rentals to Israel, and ITS Travel, the leading provider of group and individual
pilgrimages from the UK to Israel, are excited to announce a strategic partnership to provide cost effective communications
solutions to pilgrims on ITS trips. Under this new agreement all ITS Travel visitors to Israel will have the opportunity to rent
local Israel phones for all their communication needs. The agreement provides special rates and value added services specifically to
ITS clients as well as provides for bulk group delivery and pickup of equipment at Ben Gurion airport.

"In these difficult economic times, we are excited to partner with ITS Travel to remove one more expense from tourists trips to
Israel." Said Uri Schechterman, CEO of Talk'n'Save. "Under this agreement tourists mobile phones bills will be reduced by over 75%!"

All calls from Talk'n'Save phones make use of the local Cellcom network, Israel largest mobile operator, to provide ITS tourist with
low local and international call rates and the peace of mind of knowing that their phones will always work - anywhere in Israel -
Dead Sea, Eilat, Tel Aviv! Talk'n'Save now has a logistics center here in the UK so you can decide to receive your Talk'n'Save
mobile here in the UK or in Israel, wherever you prefer!

"Customers are always looking for ways to save money and we are excited to be able to offer this value added service to all of our
clients." Said Adrian Cohen of ITS . "It will make all of our pilgrimages more relaxing for our clients who need to be in touch with
each and other and with their families back home"

Gov't again mulls Eilat casino

Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov opposes building a casino on its own, but only as part of a congress and exhibition centre.

The vision of gambling in Eilat may be back on the agenda. Ministry of Tourism officials are again discussing the idea of building a
casino in the Red Sea resort town.

The Ministry of Tourism says that a number of questions must be addressed, including the advantages and disadvantages of a casino,
and what profits might accrue to Israel from a conference centre that includes a casino. The ministry is keeping quiet about one
issue: how to prevent a casino's affiliated industries of crime, prostitution, and the like.

The Ministry of Tourism intends for all relevant parties to participate in internal discussions, including the Israel Police, Office
of the State Prosecutor, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Culture and Sport, and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism.

The ministry cites the example of Las Vegas, where gambling accounts for no more than 30% of revenue, with the rest coming from
conferences, exhibitions, and so forth. The ministry believes that Eilat is a kind "of Israeli congress centre".

Minister of Tourism Stas Misezhnikov opposes building a casino on its own, but only as part of a congress and exhibition centre. In
view of the number of tourists who visit Eilat, he wants to attract medical, scientific, and technology conferences to the town, and
believes that a casino could be a supplementary pillar to a conference centre.

The Ministry of Tourism said, "The minister does not rule out supporting establishment of a casino following a professional process
to review all aspects of a casino operation in Israel. There is no doubt that establishment of a casino as part of an exhibition
centre, not as an independent activity, could bring tourism and contribute to the economy and jobs in the periphery."

Government Declares Massive Steps for Israeli 'Heritage'

The State of Israel has begun a NIS 500 million investment plan aimed at refurbishing Israeli "heritage sites." The sites will be
featured on two new hiking paths, which will give trekkers an opportunity to connect to the land with their feet.

Two weeks ago, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced the plan at the annual Herzliya Conference. Now it turns out that they
are already well underway.

A full outline of the plan will be presented to ministers at next Sunday's cabinet meeting. It is estimated to take approximately 6
years to complete.

In his speech to Herzlyia Conference attendees, Netanyahu praised students for their talent and cosmopolitan thinking. But he said
these attributes are not enough. He bemoaned the "surroundings of cultural shallowness, of diluted knowledge and spirituality,"
which he said "dilutes and weakens the national strength."

The antidote, Netanyahu said, is reminding students of their "Zionist heritage," encouraging them to find themselves in the Jewish
people and the Land of Israel. His plan aims to allow them to do so by walking the length and breadth of Israel.

One trail will be called the 'Historic Land of Israel' trail, leading hikers to dozens of ancient archaeological sites. The other
will be the 'Israel Experience' trail, meant to connect hikers with landmarks, museums, and memorials associated with pre-State
Jewish settlement in Israel and the fight to create an independent Jewish country.

Tourism Minister Stas Meseznikov and Negev and Galilee Development Minister Silvan Shalom have already confirmed their cooperation
on the project.

MKs from the Knesset Lobby for Judea, Samaria, and Gaza have contacted the Prime Minister to request that he include heritage sites
in Judea and Samaria, such as ancient Hebron and Shilo, on his list of locations to restore.

Some of the sites possibly slated for renewal are Qumran, Masada, Tel Meggido, Neot Kedumim, Susia, Tiberias, Tel Lachish, Sde
Amudim, Beit She'an, Caesarea National Park, Tel Arad, Tel Dan, and the City of David in Jerusalem.

The programme will also include the preservation of documents, songs, poems, and art deemed valuable to Israeli heritage.

Tel Aviv approves plan for bike rental system

The Tel Aviv municipality's finance committee approved a plan this week to set up a bike rental system modeled after the one in
Paris. Approval by the full city council is still needed, but Monday's committee vote indicates that the project, which was on ice
for a long time, will soon get off the ground.

The plan calls for the city's economic development authority to purchase all the necessary equipment. The municipality will then
select a franchisee to run the project for a period of 10 years.

Initially, 1,500 bikes will be stationed at 150 points throughout Tel Aviv, meaning 10 bikes per station, though each bike rack will
have room for 20 bikes. Those who sign up for the service will be able to take a bike from any of these stations and return it to
any station as well.

Half of the bikes and bike racks are slated to be up and running six months after the project is finally approved, and the rest by
the end of the first year. By the end of the 10 years, the city plans to have 5,250 bikes and 225 stations.

The cost of setting up the project - including bikes, bike racks, spare parts, the software to manage it and other components - will
be NIS 69.6 million, of which the Transportation Ministry has agreed to cover about NIS 20 million.

The franchisee selected to operate the system will be paid NIS 5.8 million a year. In addition, the franchisee will get all revenues
earned from subscriptions to the service up to NIS 4.64 million a year, and half of all revenues beyond that level, with the city
getting the other half. If revenues are less than NIS 4.64 million, the municipality will make up the difference, up to a ceiling of
NIS 2.33 million.

An annual subscription will cost NIS 240 for Tel Aviv-Jaffa residents and NIS 280 for others. A one-day subscription will cost NIS
14, or NIS 20 on Shabbat and holidays, and a weekly subscription will cost NIS 60. Customers will also be able to rent bicycles by
the hour.

DENTAL TOURISM TO ISRAEL

Tour and Smile leading Israeli oral and maxillary facial surgeons utilizing state-of-the-art clinics

Tour and Smile was started four years ago and works with a consortium of leading Israeli oral and maxillary facial surgeons
utilizing state-of-the-art clinics in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Having performed thousands of restorative procedures, Tour and
Smile's surgeons are able to handle the 'extreme' cases that other clinics decline.

Tour and Smile brings you world class leadership in same-day implants, medically referred to as 'immediate loading'. Rather than the
traditional 3 to 9 month waiting period between receiving implants and crowns, during which time the client typically wears a
temporary denture, same-day implants offer complete, new, and functional teeth the same day. Same Day Implants can also be inserted
immediately following a tooth extraction, speeding up the healing process.

Tour and Smile clinics also offer specialized services such as CTC (Disk) implants, a technique perfected by Dr. Jean Benatouil and
not yet available in the United States. CTC implants offers clients lacking enough bone matter for traditional implants a
revolutionary new option, the ability to receive a solid foundation and implants in one procedure. By offering such solid
foundation, CTC implants receive crowns immediately.

Dental implants are improving people's lives. They provide a foundation for replacement teeth which look, function, and feel like
natural teeth. People who have lost teeth regain the ability to eat normally as if they had never experienced tooth loss, regaining
teeth that look healthy, natural, and are beautifully aligned. Implants also help preserve facial structure and prevent the bone
deterioration that occurs when teeth are missing. Facial contours and structure are restored allowing patients to smile with
confidence and look their best.

There are several reasons to consider implants over other options. Unlike bridges, implants do not sacrifice the structure of
surrounding good teeth to bridge a space. Unlike dentures, implants are permanent. Receding bone and gum, a continual issue once a
patient has dentures, forces the denture wearer to frequently visit his dentist for adjustments. Dentures that slip can be
uncomfortable and rather embarrassing as well as cause sores in the patient's mouth and gums. Dentures may also diminish the
wearer's sense of taste.

Tour and Smile clinics offer the most advanced restorative dentistry procedures in the world at the hands of some of the most
skilled and innovative surgeons in the industry. In addition to great care, Tour and Smile patients save up to 60% of the going
rates for the same procedures in Europe and the United States allowing them to enjoy a first class vacation and tour the holy land.

Travel Tips

Q. How can avoid being robbed in my hotel room?

A. Well there is never a 100% fail safe way - but here are a few tips - when you leave the room BEFORE it is made up by the
chambermaid:

1. Do not leave any valuables in the room.

2. You have to use the (in your room) hotel safe provided* or lock them up in your suitcase.

When you leave your room AFTER it is made up by the chambermaid:

A. Put the Do Not Disturb Sign on the outside door handle of your room.

B. Leave the lights on.

C. Put on the TV or radio rather loud.

The above does still not absolve you from point 2 above

* Room hotel safes are not impregnable and sadly confident hotel thieves have found a way of getting into your room and then into
your safe; and there is no way of stopping them if the hotel has poor in house security.

If your room is on the ground floor - ALWAYS have the curtains drawn, when possible to avoid prying eyes. Or even better - move to a
higher floor! If you are staying in a hotel with the old fashioned keys - NEVER hand them in until you check-out. An onlooker can
see your room number and you are advertising the fact that you are not in your room.

Last but by no means least - never be flamboyant with big fat wads of cash in public - it attracts the wrong kind of people and if
you do it in your hotel - it easy for the hotel thief to find out your room number.
